The Nippon Formula-3 series was, during the late nineteen eighties and nineteen nineties, a viable and necessary stepping stone to Formula One. Many of the biggest F-1 stars of the nineties and the early years of the twenty first century raced in this series. Big name drivers such as ……put the final polish on their carriers before moving on up to the big show, Formula-1. The series was a “spec” type series that utilized an engine built by Mugen, the high performance wing of Honda. One of the mechanical high points of the series was the fact that teams had their engines professional built by some of the best engine builders in Japan and Europe. This was a mechanical racing series the utilized the same engine for all, but built by engine building firms in many different countries, in
Europe and the orient, each with different ideas of how to get the most from this one engine.
Upon receiving the engine we examined it and then proceeded to disassemble and inspect and clean the parts.
